We the People, take our streets to show some love
This was the scene at 12:16 a.m. at the corner of Broad St. and Laurel in Richmond, VA after Barack Obama was elected president. Six lanes of traffic completely taken over by everyone in an exhilirating and spontaneous eruption of celebration of the fruits of the democratic process gone right. The cops were terrific. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. (Apologies for the camera-phone pic.)
